We should split the build commands into multiple lines, so that we won't be worrying about merge conflicts when editing the commands.
I thought this would be so trivial it wouldn't deserve the overhead of a JIRA entry, but good grief! How can something so simple be so difficult in npm:
another option is to move the longer script entries into their own script files. That should let us split across lines and add commenting. That may be even better for maintenance than just splitting across lines.
A separate script file could also have one or two simple parameters, so we likely would not need separate scripts for build/draft or for watch/watch:editor.
