I am trying for years now to install Zanata on various different Linux server setups, and always keep failing because the documentation is simply not accurate or even flatout wrong in the last steps. I just gave it another try and failed again. So this is me hoping someone can solve this for me:
I have followed all the steps for a local installation - Wildfly is running, the Zanata page opens correctly - although just with a blank page but the sidemenu displayed (see screenshot). However, there is no way to register a user via the interface anywhere so I cannot log in.
Here is where I believe this issue is rooted: The documentation says:
Zanata does not create an admin user by default. You need to register specific users to have administrative privileges.
Open the <JBOSS>/standalone/configuration/standalone.xml file.
Locate the following line, and replace admin with a comma-separated list of users that require administrator privileges on the system if necessary.
The file "standalone.xml" does NOT have this line at all though. I also don't believe the file is even relevant, since "standalone-zanata.xml" most likely will be used. Yes, I did make the required edits there, adding an "admin" user to the list.
I must be missing something so obvious that the documentation doesn't even hint at how to create these users now.
I hope you can help but judging from the 0 to none replies reported issues get here I suspect the developer doesn't really care. A shame - I would love to deploy Zanata for my client's projects.
